My years in the courtroom have taught me what it takes to be a good judge. In any courtroom where I preside, every person will know that they were heard, treated fairly and given an equal opportunity to make their case — no matter who they are, where they live, what they do for a living, their race, age, gender,lifestyle or point of view.
Over my 30 year legal career I have represented people from all walks of life – in all kinds of trouble, both civil and criminal. I have represented people who could not afford to pay for a lawyer and corporations that couldn’t afford not to. I have represented union members and I have owned a company that gave schools and parents tools to protect children from the darker side of the Internet.
Because of my trial experience I am a recognized expert in trial advocacy and have taught hundreds of lawyers in Seattle and around the U.S. for over 20 years. Helping lawyers and law students learn how to effectively represent their clients with the highest ethical standards is one way I have worked to improve our legal system.
